Norwegian police investigating suspicions of employee exploitation by Vlantana Norge have searched the Lithuanian-owned haulage firm's premises, frozen its banks accounts and seized seven trucks, according the 15min online news site reported LETA/BNS.

The police are still examining the documents obtained during the searches, but indicate that there are grounds to suspect that the company falsified documents.

Earlier this week, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration suspended Vlantana Norge's license to transport goods in Norway, marking the first time it has done so for alleged employee exploitation.

Vlantana Norge is related to Vlantana, one of Lithuania's largest transport groups, through its shareholders. The Norwegian firm employs 161 people, based on official information.
