Latvia has one of the cheapest train tickets in the world

According to a price index calculated by the portal Goeuro.com, Latvia has one of the cheapest train tickets in the world, cites LETA/Nozare.lv.

The portal points out that travelling 100 kilometers by train in Latvia costs USD 4.17 (EUR 3.05), and is the ninth cheapest in the index. Only Bulgaria, Thailand, Turkey, Malaysia, Egypt, Georgia and South Africa have cheaper train tickets.

 

Meanwhile, Lithuania has the 11th cheapest train tickets, while Estonia – the 16th.

 

The most expensive train tickets are in Denmark – USD 39.84 for 100 kilometers, followed by Switzerland USD 38.28, and Austria – USD 32.16.
