Since now on, the citizens of Vilnius will be able to purchase and replenish their public transport e-tickets, Vilnius City Cards, at any post office in the capital, informed BC post’s press service.

“One of our main aims is to turn the post office into a place where residents can handle their everyday issues. We are glad that from this day on the residents of Vilnius City will be able to discover post offices as one more channel to purchase e-tickets,” Lithuania Post’s Directress of Postal Network Division Inga Dunduliene said.

According to Mrs Dunduliene, Lithuania Post runs the widest network of access points in Vilnius. Vilnius City Cards are available for purchase and replenishment at 47 post offices of the city. In a short time, the cards will be available at 42 PayPost outlets rendering financial services.

The price of the card sold at post offices is LTL 4. The e-tickets can be replenished with a certain amount of money or public transport tickets.

In case the passenger is entitled to receive a discount on fare, before replenishing the card for the first time, the postal or PayPost staff should be informed in advance that discount should be applied. Next time, the discount will be applied automatically.

The new tickets can be activated when getting on a bus or trolleybus for the first time. This can be done by putting the card to the yellow device scanning the card’s data.
