The construction of the European railway line Rail Baltica has already disturbed the lives of the residents of Vingyte village (Kaunas district). As soon as 2014 begins, the situation will be even worse because the builders are planning to reconstruct the railway's crossover and to close the driveway for a period of time, reports LETA/ELTA.

The communication of the citizens with other locations of the district will be exacerbated because there is no other way: the village is surrounded by the river, forests and wetland.

Even if it was planned to end the worked within a period of 3 months, Mayor of Kaunas district Valerijus Makunas was sure that there was a need to make every effort, so that the people living near the railway would face as less discomfort as possible. As a result, the mayor discussed the situation with Head of Kaunas Railway Infrastructure as well as with the representatives of the society.

'We need to make every effort, so that people would face as less discomfort as possible. People engaged in the construction of the railway should talk about the competence - the restoration of the local roads. The Rail Baltica is the object of the international significance; however, we need to remember that people are living near this European Railway," said Makunas.
