Tallinn hands out 64,000 transport cards in 10 weeks

Print versionIn ten weeks, starting from September 21, Tallinn City has distributed 64,000 transport cards, almost a fourth part of their owners use the cards when riding public transport means, the Tallinn's press service reported.

Overall, 18,000 persons have used the latest transport cards which entitle the owners to take a ride on the public transport for free starting from next year, writes LETA.
The card is personal for each public transport's passenger and should be validated in the beginning of each drive via electronic validator.
The right to drive public transport in Tallinn has been granted to all capital city inhabitants and all Estonia's schoolchildren (<19).
The transport cards are available in trade centers Prisma, Maxima, and Selver, as well as at post, and in the client service unit at city government. Pensioners can receive the cards for free at post.
