Pilots employed by Estonian national air carrier Estonian Air mull strike in the beginning of December, Estonian news portal BBN reports referring to a newspaper Eesti Paevaleht.

Mart Lubi, the company’s chief pilot, admits that the situation is tense.

According to him, several sets of negotiations with the airline's management have been held, but no resolution is in sight, writes LETA.

Rauno Menning, head of the association of line pilots, says that the strike issue has not been agreed yet.

"By now our association has made no decision about the strike. We have legal obligations to inform the public about such things and this is what we will do," he said.

As reported, a wave of strikes hit Estonia this autumn. The medical staff of Estonia's healthcare facilities announced prolonged strike in order to obtain the salaries increase. Initially, the state and the protesters could not come to the agreement. Finally, the parties found consensus, and the strike came to the end after lasting almost a month – from October 1 till October 26, 2012. Starting March 1, the minimum hourly wage of caretakers will increase by 23, that of nurses by 17.5 and doctors by 11%.

After the recent strike of doctors and nurses social minister Hanno Pevkur said that the money for wage increase of medical staff will most likely be found by cutting the planned unemployment benefit increase next year.
