The tanker did not have a load on. There are 24 people on board the tanker. Estonian Police and Border Guard Board marine guard bureau specialist Ivar Treffner said that the situation is stable and the crew will remain on board at the moment.
Bilge water leaked from the tanker but that leak was stopped; there is no danger of pollution and to human lives.
Border guard ship PVL 101 General Kurvits observes the situation at the location. Three towboats exited from Muuga port to the location and whether improves they will try and get the tanker free.
Although Estonian authorities have not asked for the help of neighbouring states in the case, Finnish and Swedish border guard and environmental officials are keeping a keen eye on the situation, the Finnish YLE reported. A Swedish guard plane is scheduled to fly over the site and three Finnish pollution fight ships are ready to depart any minute.
