Estonian government to compile transport development plan for 2014-2020

Print versionEstonian government approved on Thursday of a proposal according to which the economy and communications ministry will start compiling Estonian transport development plan for 2014-2020, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

The aim of the development plan is to agree upon the Estonian transport sphere principles and activities that help guarantee movement of people and goods in a comfortable, fast and safe way.
"We have done a major work in building up the infrastructure of ports, airports and railways, which cover the current and near future needs," said economy and communications minister Juhan Parts. "Now the state of roads has to be improved."
The ministry has to submit the strategy to the government in April next year latest.
