Klaipeda hosts largest ship classification company Nippon Kaiji Kyokai

Print versionLithuanian Maritime Safety Administration and Japanese classification company - a large ship classification enterprise Nippon Kaiji Kyokai have signed an agreement; Klaipeda will further on host this classification company, the maritime news portal Jura24.lt reported.

A Japanese company is managing 200 million tons of the registered shipping tonnage, writes LETA/ELTA.
This company became the ninth ship classification company in Klaipeda. The city-port hosts a wide array of such companies: Bureu Veritas, Det Norske Veritas, Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyd's Register EMEA, Polski Rejestr Statkow, Russian Sea Registry, RINA Baltic and ABS Europe Ltd. The companies have their offices near the port of Klaipeda.
