Court turned down Stadler’s complaint concerning procurement of new trains by Pasazieru vilciens

Regional Court chairman's aide Liga Trubina informed LETA that the court on February 29 upheld the Administrative District Court's January 25 ruling.
The Cabinet of Ministers on January 24 gave a go-ahead for the contract on new trains for Pasazieru vilciens to be signed with Spanish company Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A. (CAF), and so did the Administrative Court on January 25, rejecting Stadler's petition that demanded suspension of the Procurement Monitoring Bureau's decision to grant permission for the LVL 429.24 million procurement.
The Regional Court's ruling cannot be appealed.
As reported, CAF has extended the validity date for its offer of supply of new trains.
Pasazieru vilciens is to buy a total of 34 new electric trains and seven diesel trains by 2015.
