airBaltic council chairman Gints Kirsteins previously told reporters that the airline's new president was selected with the help of a professional personnel selection company. Various criteria were taken into account during the competition and Gauss turned out to be the best.

Gauss' main tasks will include reorganization of the airline and formation of transparent management. It is planned that the airline's new head will not be able to make decisions on his own; they will all have to be made by the airline's board.
