Transport Ministry: solution to snag in airBaltic legal proceedings will be found

Alla Petrova, BC, Riga, 03.10.2011.Print version
Even though the Register of Enterprises has announced that it will not be able to register any increases in the share capital of the national airline airBaltic, the Transport Ministry points out that the said matter will be solved.

Transport Ministry's representative Aivis Freidenfelds told Nozare.lv that, at the moment, the agreement between the state and the airline's minority shareholder is being drafted, which will include a solution, informs LETA.

The ministry declined additional comment for the time being.

As reported, the Register of Enterprises representative Baiba Vismane previously told the Nozare.lv that the Register of Enterprises will not be able to register the increases in the share capital of airBaltic now that the Riga District Court has accepted the Transport Ministry's lawsuit against the airline and its CEO, Bertolt Flick.

Since no entries can be made in the Commercial Register regarding changes in the airline's share capital, the Register of Enterprises may not perform any actions regarding airBaltic's share capital increase, said Vismane.

Vismane also confirmed that the Register of Enterprises had not received corrected documents from airBaltic yet, which would state that the airline wishes to increase its share capital.
