Estonian Air’s bourse listing cannot be ruled out

Juhan Tere, BC, Tallinn, 27.05.2011.Print version
Estonian national carrier Estonian Air’s council chairman Joakim Helenius said that it cannot be ruled out that the company would be listed at bourse one day but it will not happen in 2011, LETA/Äripäev writes.

It is rumoured that this year an Estonian state-owned company where the state’s ownership is below 100%, will be listed at the Tallinn bourse.

"The state-owned company is not Estonian Air, who has share issue plans. What future can bring I do not know,” noted Helenius.

He said that Estonian Air listing at bourse in the future cannot be ruled out but at the moment the topic is not acute. Since Estonian Air wants to reach profits in two years, Helenius does not consider Estonian Air’s IPO possible over the next year. "This year I do not see a reason for even the most initial of discussions. I can say that I personably will not participate at any IPO discussion this year – there is no point,” he said.

Tallinn bourse head Andrus Alber has said that a new company should be listed at the bourse before Midsummer’s.
