The Riga Regional Court today rejected a claim filed by the Riga International Airport for the arrest of incoming payments at the national airline airBaltic as well as the airline's funds in credit institutions and other financial institutions as security until airBaltic pays its debt to the airport, as the airport informed the business portal Nozare.lv.

As reported, the Riga Airport turned to the Riga Regional Court on July 19, claiming that a debt of more than LVL 2.5 million is levied from airBaltic.

The Riga Airport has appealed the Riga Regional Court's ruling to the Supreme Court's Civil Cases Panel, writes LETA.

Yesterday the Riga Airport filed an additional claim to the Regional Court, increasing the total airBaltic debt amount to 3.4 million altogether.

Minister for Transport Kaspars Gerhards (For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK) in turn has ordered both sides to reach agreement by Monday regarding the payment of airBaltic's debt to the airport.
