BC, Vilnius, 12.11.2020.Print version
LTG Cargo, the freight subsidiary of Lithuania's state railway company (Lithuanian Railways, LTG), saw its freight volumes for January-October drop 4.8% year-on-year to 43.8 million tons, informs LETA/BNS.
In October, the company carried 5.03 million tons, down 4.5% from the same month last year, the company said.
Growth in freight traffic has been pushed by grain exports via the port of Klaipeda as they remained record-high in October, standing at 0.46 million tons and accounting for 66% of the total. And 2.24 million tons of grains were transported in the first 10 months of this year.
The pandemic has pushed Chinese freight volumes as they stood at 34,400 TEU in the first ten months of this year, up four times from the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the volumes of Belarusian cargoes LTG Cargo transported in January-October remained fairly unchanged.
