Estonia: Freight carried by rail down 8.4% on year in July

Print versionCarriage of freight by rail in Estonia dropped 8.4% year on year to 1.3 mln tons in July, informed LETA/BNS.

Month over month, an increase of 4.2% was registered, data
available from Statistics Estonia shows.
The freight turnover of rail transport dropped 20.2% year on
year to 141.7 mln ton-kilometers. The rate of increase compared to June was 2%.
Carriage of passengers by rail declined 24.6% on year to
508,000 boardings, whereas in comparison with June an increase of 9% was
registered.
Measured in passenger-kilometers, passenger transportation
decreased 4.6% on year to 27.3 mln passenger-kilometers. In month-on-month
comparison an increase of 23.8% took place.
