New automobile registrations in Latvia decreased by 28.1% in H1

A total of 24,234 new automobiles were registered in Latvia in January-June, which is 28.1% less than in the first half of 2019, writes LETA, according to the Road Traffic Safety Directorate's data.
3,225 new trucks were also registered in Latvia for the first time, a decrease of 32.2% on the first half of 2019, as well as 145 new buses (14.7% reduction) and 2,121 motorcycles (12.6% decrease).
Also registered in the first six months this year were 937 new mopeds (3.5% increase) more, 116 quad bikes (7.4% more), and 3,437 trailers and semi-trailers (16.8% decrease from the first half of 2019).
Therefore a total of 34,215 vehicles were registered in Latvia for the first time in January-June, which is 30.4% less than in the first half of last year.
Last year, 91,006 new vehicles were registered in Latvia, which was 1.1% more than in 2018.
