Wizz Air accepts only contactless payments on flights to and from Riga as of Monday

Starting Monday, Hungarian low-costs airline Wizz Air only accepts contactless payments on flights to and from Riga in order to enhance passenger safety, as LETA learned from the airline.

Inflight magazines have also been removed from seatback pockets on all Wizz Air flights.


According to Wizz Air, safety measures and passengers and crewmembers' health and wellbeing has always been the main priority of the airline. Hence the additional hygiene measures, which are meant to allow for more distance during the boarding process and on board the flights.


In additional, passenger registration and all payments, for instance, for extra luggage, are now done online only.


HEPA filters, which capture 99.97 percent of viruses and bacteria, have been installed on all Wizz Air planes, and all crew members wear masks for the duration of the entire flight. The airline points out that all its aircraft are regularly cleaned and disinfected in accordance with the official requirements.


As reported, Riga International Airport's passenger turnover decreased 54.7% in January-May year on year.
