Freight handling by Estonian ports decreased by 0.8% in April y-o-y

Estonian ports handled some 3.38 million tons of cargoes in April, 0.8% less than in the same month last year, data available from Statistics Estonia show, cites LETA/BNS.
Loading of freight declined 12.4% year on year to 2.03 million tons and unloading grew 23.5% to 1.35 million tons.
From January through April, Estonian ports handled a total of approximately 12 million tons of goods. The loading of goods amounted to some 7.8 million tons and unloading to 4.2 million tons.
Estonian ports handled 37.6 million tons of cargo in 2019, 4.7% more than during the previous year.
In 2019, loading of freight made up approximately two thirds or 25.3 million tons of the total cargo volume of ports. The unloading of cargo amounted to 12.2 million tons.
