Latvian national airline airBaltic will provide face masks and disinfectant wipes to all passengers when resuming flights, the airline's Corporate Communications Department told LETA.

The airline explained that it is responsible for the safe delivery of passengers to their destinations. The airline said that it is ready to resume scheduled flights as soon as travel restrictions are lifted.

Once the restrictions are lifted, airBaltic will gradually increase the number of flight, initially with five Airbus A220-300 aircraft to 14 destinations. With each subsequent week, additional planes and destinations will return to the company's flight schedule.

"We have already introduced a number of additional measures to take care of the health and safety of our employees and passengers. When we resume flights, all passengers will be provided with face masks and disinfection wipes. We will also follow all local authority recommendations," the airline said.

The airline is currently continuing to develop precise guidelines for more frequent cabin cleaning, additional protective equipment for crew and certain other initiatives that will be introduced with the resumption of flights.
