Finnair extends code share with British Airways to Tallinn-London service

BC, Tallinn, 27.10.2017.Print version
The Finnish carrier Finnair has said it is extending their current partnership with British Airways with several new code-shares flights within Europe, including the service between London Heathrow and Tallinn, writes LETA/BNS.

British Airways will place its codes on several of Finnair's European destinations including the new non-stop flights from London Gatwick to Kittila and Ivalo in northern Finland, which will begin operating for the winter season on Dec. 12 and 14 respectively.

Finnair will place its codes on British Airways flights between London Heathrow and Tallinn, Copenhagen and Goteborg.

The new code-shares aim to increase the connectivity for both carriers through their respective Helsinki and London airport hubs.

"Thanks to the code-share more opportunities will open for Estonians to combine flights to North America. The partnership also allows to bring back the seasonal Helsinki-Miami service, which has demonstrated itself as the most popular long-distance service out of Tallinn," Arunas Skuja, manager for the Baltics and Eastern Europe at Finnair, said.

In 2018, Finnair will fly between Tallinn and Helsinki 44 times a week and will operate daily flights between Helsinki and Tartu, second biggest city of Estonia. In the summer of 2018, the company plans to add 17 more flights to the Tallinn-Helsinki service per week.
