Neste to continue supplying low sulphur fuel to Tallink

BC, Tallinn, 15.12.2016.Print version
Neste will supply the listed Estonian shipper Tallink with low sulphur fuel in 2017 as well, said LETA/BNS.

We entered into a partnership with Neste already in 2015. We value Neste's reliability, their fuel deliveries have been prompt, safe and on time," chief of ship management at Tallink Grupp Tarvi-Carlos Tuulik said. "Neste's low sulphur fuel suits us, being environmentally friendly and having good technical properties."

EU and international regulations limit sulphur emissions from commercial shipping in the Baltic Sea to 0.1 percent. Neste offers two fuels with a sulphur content below 0.1%.

Tallink told the stock exchange in February that low global energy prices had enabled the group to switch smoothly to the more environmentally friendly low sulphur fuel and the previously highlighted risk of increasing fuel cost had not materialized. Following the market prices, the group's average fuel costs in 2015 were 5% lower than the year before.
