State-owned Lithuanian Shipping Company (LSC) has no plans to sell its vessel Venta. According to the head of the company, Sigitas Dobilinskas, now the biggest concern is to free ship Deltuva, which was impounded in the port of Klaipeda, reports LETA/ELTA, referring to Vakaru ekspresas.

The ship has remained docked for nearly two months. It was impounded due to a debt to seafarers and suppliers.

On 23 July the vessel docked at the quay used by a subsidiary of AB Klaipedos Juru Kroviniu Kompanija (Klaipeda Stevedoring Company – Klasco). The head of LSC says one day spent by vessel Deltuva at the port costs the company from EUR 1,500-2,000.

Audrius Pauza, Director General of Klasco, said "LSC is indebted but we hope it will pay. Its debt is not large today – tens of thousands of euro. We are not providing electricity for the ship as it is generating electricity itself. We have accepted Deltuva because we care about Lithuania's image. I think there must be some patriotism in business as well. If we need to use the quay, we will see then".
