Lithuanian and Baltic companies to build Rail Baltica

Print versionThe state-owned Lithuanian company Lithuanian Railways and joint Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonia companies will be implementing the Rail Baltica projects, reports LETA/ELTA.

According to Lithuania's Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Arijandas Sliupas, Lithuania will enjoy the benefits of the implementation of these projects as its companies will be implementing them.
Valdas Sutkus, president of the Lithuanian Business Confederation, the decision was particularly welcomed by Lithuania's business representatives as back in 2013 there were worries that the funds of the second stage of the Rail Baltica projects would go to the major European corporation, while Lithuanian companies would only be left with the most difficult, unskilled tasks.
