BC, Tallinn, 23.07.2015.Print version
The council of Estonia's state-owned railway company Eesti Raudtee (Estonian Railways) announced on Tuesday that it made a proposal to start talks over concluding board chairman's contract to Sulev Loo, who just left the board of logistics company Tarcona, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

Loo said that he hopes to use all efforts and his long-term experiences for the good of Eesti Raudtee. He said that he wants to make a contribution to strengthening the passenger transport as well as the railway-related logistics and transit sector.

Eesti Raudtee, which has steadily lost business volumes in recent times, has been looking for a new manager for months. The previous head of the company Ahti Asmann resigned the post in March, following a scandal over the use of the company's fuel card for his personal use; currently the acting Chief Financial Officer Toomas Virro leads the firm.

Sulev Loo is 45 years old and has extensive experience in the management of international organizations, transit and logistics business. He has managed such Estonian transit and logistics sector companies as N-Terminal Grupp, Milstrand, Pakterminal and AS Tarcona.
