Air Lituanica initiates bankruptcy procedure

BC, Vilnius, 28.05.2015.Print version
Air Lituanica Director Nerijus Jukna has reviewed the company's activities and decided to propose to Air Lituanica board of directors to initiate bankruptcy proceedings. Bankruptcy proceedings should be initiated as soon as possible, reports LETA/ELTA.

The company has announced that due to termination of flights some Air Lituanica employees can no longer carry out their duties and thus labour relations with them will be discontinued. Air Lituanica administration is reorganising its resources and devoting attention only to the most essential work – communication with passengers and analysis of complaints. It is not carrying out other functions.

As reported, Air Lituanica announced on 22 May that it would terminate all flights and agreed with Latvian airline airBaltic that between 22 May and 5 June all Air Lituanica passengers would be transferred on airBaltic flights. Passengers who have tickets to fly on other dates should refer to the company for a refund.
