Estonian Air takes over Air Lituanica's market share

BC, Tallinn, 24.05.2015.Print version
Estonian national carrier Estonian Air will make 11 round trip flights per week on the Tallinn-Vilnius route starting Monday instead of the current six round-trip flights per week after Air Lituanica announced of stopping operations, LETA/Delfi reports.

In addition to the existing flight schedule, there will be morning flights departing from Tallinn on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

"In summary, the connection between Tallinn and Vilnius will remain the same as compared to the period when we operated alongside Air Lituanica. However, we plan to ask from the Lithuanian Ministry of Economic Affairs if and what further cooperation they plan in connecting Vilnius with other European cities," said member of the board of Estonian Air Indrek Randveer.

Estonian Air leased to Air Lituanica one Embraer plane which was pre-paid for and Estonian Air's economic activities are not affected due to the end of flights by the Lithuanian carrier.
