Ground handling service company Havas Europe signed an agreement with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Ukraine International Airlines to operate their ground handling services at Riga Airport. To celebrate the first flights of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Ukraine International Airlines arriving at Riga Airport from Stockholm and Kiev, Havas Europe officials welcomed flight crews and passengers with flowers and treats. Providing ground handling services to more than 200 airline companies at 25 airports in Turkey and 7 in Europe, as well as at Madinah Airport in Saudi Arabia, Havas extended its service network to 17 in Riga and 27 in Europe with the operations of SAS and Ukraine International Airlines.

Guclu Batkin, Chief Commercial Officer of Havas stated, “Since the start of our operation in 2010 as Havas Europe, we have achieved a significant growth in the expansion of our international operations. In line with this growth, we are very happy to welcome SAS and Ukraine International Airlines to our service network. We will provide ground handling services to these two companies, which operate approximately 1,300 reciprocal flights from Stockholm and Kiev to Riga Airport respectively while serving roughly 150,000 passengers annually. We aim to continue growing our network both in Turkey and abroad with the intention of becoming a global brand. "

Riga – Stockholm flights of SAS will be performed 18 times a week reciprocally by ATR72 type aircraft and Kiev – Stockholm flights of Ukraine International Airlines will be performed 7 times a week reciprocally by B737 type aircraft. Currently operating in Latvia to provide services at Riga International Airport, and in Germany to provide services at Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin Tegel, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Düsseldorf airports, Havas Europe provides passenger and luggage handling, ramp, aircraft cleaning, load control and communication, cargo, flight operations, transportation, representation and supervision services. Havas Europe provided service to approximately 50 thousand flights in 2014.
