Baltic tourism sector wants to organize trips to separate European regions
Zydre Gaveliene, president, of Lithuania's National Tourism Business Association, says the three Baltic states would decide together trips to which areas they could organize, with the Canary Island and Madeira now under consideration.
"The list could be expanded, if the situation improves and does not deteriorate. We have asked about possible ways to ensure safe travel and what travel organizers could do from their side. We will consult Latvia and Estonia," Gaveliene told journalists on Friday.
Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga says that if this idea is approved, it would then be coordinated with the European Center of Disease Prevention and Control to receive reliable data on the number of cases in individual regions. Moreover, criteria would be set on when and how tourists could be brought there.
