Berzins: Liepajas metalurgs potential investor has experience in the sector

Print versionSpeaking on LNT this morning, President Andris Berzins informed viewers that the investor for the troubled Liepajas metalurgs (LM) company found by shareholder Lipmans, "has experience in the sector, is capable of taking action, but ultimately the decision is for the investor to make.", informs LETA.

Berzins confirmed that the investor is satisfied with the government's current guidelines, however, "the question remains whether they will be authorized."
He added that the investor is also satisfied with the amount set – LVL 30 million, for LM to continue operations.
The president avoided responding directly about whether the investor is from the east or west, saying "it has no real significance."
