To provide all healthcare services like before the pandemic, strict safety measures will have to be taken in accordance with a decree issued by Health Minister Ilze Vinkele (For Development/For).

Starting May 29, in addition to the already available medical services, healthcare institutions will be able to provide all scheduled outpatient services and diagnostic examinations. 

As of June 3, provision of all scheduled inpatient services will resume as well, which means that the resumption of the full range of medical services. 

Like during the Covid-19 emergency, the medical institutions will be required to follow strict epidemiological safety protocols, ensuring separate patient flows and limiting the number of people on their premises. 

Medics and patients will have to be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfection measures will have to taken after each patient's visit. 

It will be up to the physicians to decide whether to require their patients to undergo Covid-19 tests before a scheduled medical manipulation.
