Tax holidays granted to 5,450 Latvian companies

By Tuesday afternoon, May 5th, the State Revenue Service (VID) has granted tax holidays to 5,450 companies in Latvia, LETA was told at the Revenue Service.
Tax holidays have been granted for the total sum of EUR 89,077,070.
Of these companies, 25% represent wholesale and retail, a well as car and motorcycle repairs, 15% represent the accommodation and catering services, and 10% - the manufacturing sector.
The Revenue Service's head Ieva Jaunzeme said earlier that around 1% of tax holiday requests have been denied.
As reported, in order to ensure support to businesses affected by the Covid-19 crisis, it is planned to provide tax holidays for a period of up to three years.
