Belarus banned re-export of Estonian and Latvian canned fish to Russia

Print versionBelarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry announced on June 5th that it banned re-export of canned fish from Latvia and Estonia to Russia, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

Essentially, this means that the canned fish from Latvia and Estonia get a notice by health officials of Belarus "Cannot be taken from Belarus to Russia", said news agency BelTA.
Russian Federation phytosanitary supervision board Rosselhoznadzor on June 4th sent the Estonian Food and Veterinary Office a report on inspection of Estonian fish processing companies and the decision banning the import of fishery products from Estonia to Russia. A similar decision was made regarding Latvia.
Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia formed a customs union in 2010.
