Three companies established by Latvian Football Federation and the organization itself deemed as suspects in criminal process - TV3

Three companies established by the Latvian Football Federation, as well as the organization itself, have been deemed suspects in the criminal process initiated by the State Revenue Service's Tax and Customs Police, according to the TV3 reports informed LETA.

The three companies are Latvijas Futbola Agentura, Latvija Futbola Federacijas Macibu un Treninu Centrs Staicele, as well as Futbola Agentura.


According to unofficial information obtained by TV3, the State Revenue Service is investigating the activities of the LFF and these federation associated companies from the period between 2011 to 2018. Suspicious loans, dubious gifts, possibly fictitious transactions and hundreds of thousands of euros.


As reported, the State Revenue Service carried out a search at the offices of the Latvian Football Federation  on Thursday.


The Revenue Service's representative Andrejs Vaivars told LETA that the Revenue Service's Tax and Customs Police had launched a criminal case against a Latvian public organization for violations of regulations on accounting and statistical information, tax evasion and money laundering.


On April 1, the Revenue Service stripped the Football Federation of a public benefit organization's status. The service's decision came into force on April 8.
