Lithuania seeking concessionaires for commercial airports

This autumn, Lithuanian Airports is to hold its first Investor Conference where potential investors and interested parties will be introduced to the concept and structure of the Lithuanian Airports Concession. The event, to be held at Vilnius Airport on 21st September, will be hosted by the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Lithuanian Airports, Invest Lithuania representative said BC.

Following the Lithuanian Parliament’s approval of the legislation package connected to the airport concession, preparation for the project is now well underway, and is being coordinated by project consultants InterVISTAS. During the conference, the proposed project structure will be presented by Hans Mohrmann of InterVISTAS, who is heading up the consultancy team as Managing Consultant.

 

Furthermore, Gediminas Almantas, CEO of Lithuanian Airports, will give an update on the latest developments in the Lithuanian airport market while Irmantas Butkauskas, Project Manager, will review the project’s timeline and agenda. At the end of the conference, participants will be invited to take a tour of Vilnius airport, and will also have the opportunity to visit Kaunas and Palanga airports the following day.

 

The event takes place on 21st September in Vilnius Airport (VNO), 10A Rodūnios street, Vilnius.


Lithuanian Airports operates a network of three international airports: Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga. Combined, more than 50,000 flights passed through the airports in 2015, serving over 4.2 million passengers (3.3 million in Vilnius, 0.74 million in Kaunas and 0.15 million in Palanga). The concessionaire will be expected to increase the connectivity of all three airports and to improve their infrastructure through financing strategic development projects and improving airport services.
