In July-August, record number of residence permit applications received from investors in Latvia

Print versionIn the past two months (July-August 2013), the Citizenship and Migration Affairs Office registered a record number of residence permit applications from third country investors.

178 applications were received in July, 159 – in August, the office's spokeswoman Laura Laiva informed LETA.
The previous record number of residence permit applications was registered in November 2012 – 139 applications.
On average, the Citizenship and Migration Affairs Office received 131 residence permit applications per month in the first eight months of 2013, compared to 102 in 2012, 70 – in 2011, 21 – in the second half of 2012. According to the office's data, the number of residence permit applications continues to increase.
