Mail order sales and e-commerce were fastest-growing retail sales categories in Estonia in H1

In the first six months of 2012, sales revenue generated by retail sales companies selling goods via mail order or Internet grew 32% at constant prices in comparison with the same period of time last year, amounting to 47.6 million euros.
Retail sales of motor fuels grew 21% in the first half of 2012 in the year-on-year comparison, to 558.6 million euros.
Retail sales of textile products, clothing, footwear and leather products grew 16%, to 109 million euros.
Retail sales of pharmaceutical and medical goods, cosmetics and toiletries grew 16%, to 125.4 million euros.
Sales of household appliances, products, hardware and construction materials grew 11% to 291.9 million euros.
Retail sales in constant prices grew 7% in June, making this the highest-selling month of the year 2012. According to the Statistics Board, total turnover of retail sales enterprises amounted to 2.6 billion euros, which is higher than the result of the same period of time during economic boom years.
