Tallinn Airport gets the word’s first Skype booth

The world’s first Skype phone booth was opened on Friday in the Tallinn airport where one can call free-of-charge to others Skype users, LETA/National Broadcasting reports.

“Since Enterprise Estonia also works on promoting Estonia abroad and we want to show Estonia to the world as a smart e-solutions state – small but innovative – the logical idea came that Skype phone could be launched,” Enterprise Estonia communications coordinator Merilin Pärli said in ETV.

Pärli reminded that the Tallinn Airport bears the name of Estonia’s former present Lennart Meri who has said that Estonia has to look for its own Nokia. "If Skype isn’t that, what is? We hope that the example will be followed and in the future it can be found in other airports of the world,” she said.
