Brailko/Namike triumph at European U-20 Beach Volleyball Championships

Print versionThe Latvian women's beach volleyball pair Varvara Brailko and Anete Namike triumphed at the European U-20 Beach Volleyball Championships on September 13th, informs LETA.

Brailko/Namike, who were the tournament's 8th seed, defeated sixth seeded Swiss pair Stahli/Bentele 2-0 (21:15, 21:17) in the final.
It has already been reported that Rūdolfs Stankevičs / Artūrs Rinkevičs took the sixth place in the men’s tournament.
In the main event, 32 duos were divided into eight subgroups of four each. The group winners started the elimination tournament from the second round, and the second and third place winners – from the first round.
The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has not yet published the U-21 World Cup Qualifying Rules, but in previous years, the winners of the first five places in the European Championship have qualified for the same age group planetary championships.
