Tallinn partially exempts businesses operating on city premises from paying rent

The Tallinn city government approved a measure by which catering, commercial and entertainment establishments operating on city premises located in the city center will be exempted from paying rent in the extent of 80% until the end 2020, informs LETA/BNS.
Deputy Mayor Aivar Riisalu said at a press conference on Wednesday that the aim of the measure is to foremost save business in the Old Town in the ceased tourist economy situation.
Riisalu noted that in addition to the 80% rental exemption valid from September to the end of December, institutions can place outdoor terraces in urban space free of charge.
The measure will cost the city approximately 450,000 euros.
