Ignitis Group, a Lithuanian energy group active in the Baltic countries, is expanding its activities and will begin supplying electricity and natural gas for business customers in Poland, informed LETA/BNS.

"We have been operating in the Polish market for several years, we've accumulated considerable experience, therefore we are aware of the needs and expectations of local customers. As a result, entering the segment of energy supply to business customers is natural for the further development of the company," Diana Kazakevic, regional manager of Ignitis Group for Poland, said.

"In addition, we place great emphasis on sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions that enable our customers to use clean energy and contribute to the reduction of environmental pollution,“ she said.

Ignitis Group said that it is also actively investing in renewable energy projects in the Polish market. Currently, a wind farm project, consisting of 29 turbines, with a total installed capacity of 94 MW is being developed in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The wind farm will start operating in 2021 with investment reaching 127 million euros. Said wind farm is currently the second largest wind farm under construction in Poland and is planned to generate enough energy to supply electricity to almost 160,000 households throughout the year.

Ignitis is a Baltic energy group whose companies are active in the generation, distribution and sale of energy and development of energy solutions. The company owns two hydroelectric power plants in Lithuania, four wind farms in Lithuania and Estonia and a biomass fueled station in Lithuania.

The revenue of Ignitis Group totaled over 1.25 bn euros in 2019. The group employs 4,000 people.
