The Estonian ferry operator Tallink Grupp announced on Thursday that the first Burger King restaurants in Latvia and Lithuania will be opened in the Akropole shopping center in Riga and the Akropolis mall in Vilnius in the second half of this year, the company informed LETA.
"We've been looking for the best locations for the first restaurants in Latvia and Lithuania for long and I'm glad that we have finally arrived at an agreement with Akropolis Group and can open the first restaurants namely in shopping centers belonging to them," Katre Kovask, head of onshore at Tallink Grupp, said.
Tallink Grupp acquired the franchise for Burger King restaurants in the Baltic countries in fall 2019. It opened the first Burger King restaurants in Tallinn on May 20 this year.
The company is planning to open over 40 Burger King restaurants in total in the three Baltic countries, creating an estimated more than 800 jobs.
