Covid-19: Outdoor cafes in Lithuania could reopen if they ensure visitors' safety

BC, Vilnius, 24.04.2020.Print version
As the Lithuanian government let outdoor cafes reopen as of Monday, the Health Ministry says they will be able to work if they are able to ensure visitors' safety, infromed LETA/BNS.

Owners will have to ensure that tables stand 1-2 meters apart. They will be also required to ensure that people do not gather in groups larger than two people, except for families or relatives.

Café owners will also need to ensure that only visitors wearing masks and other face protective measures are allowed to enter, and also the distance of at least one meter is maintained in queues to checkouts.

The administrations of cafes is also required to provide information at the entry that those in the risk group – aged over 60 and having underlying issues – are not recommended to visit cafes.

Finally, cafes will need to provide information on the importance of sticking to hygienic norms, and also provide means to disinfect and wash hands.

The Lithuanian government extended the lockdown in the country until May 11 but allowed more businesses to reopen. Outdoor cafes, museum, libraries and hair salons will be allowed to reopen as of Monday.
