Estonia: KFC to open restaurant at Tallinn Airport in spring

BC, Tallinn, 21.01.2020.Print version
Fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is about to open a restaurant at Tallinn Airport this spring, informed LETA/BNS.

"At an airport it's important to be able to get your food fast, and often people wish to buy food to take with them on board. Hence various fast food outlets are very popular," Margot Holts, head of marketing and communication at the state-owned airport company, told.

She said surveys by the airport indicate that it's important specifically for foreign passengers for there to be well-known international brands present at the airport and that the airport is pleased that this coming spring a strong international fast food brand, KFC, will be added to the offering at Tallinn Airport.

The new fast food restaurant will be located between gates 3 and 5 of the airport, where a toy store is located at present.

Subway will continue to operate as a fast food provider at Tallinn Airport.

Apollo Group announced at the end of November that it intends to open over 20 KFC restaurants across the Baltics in three years.

Apollo Group acquired the KFC franchise in the Baltic countries last winter. The first KFC in Estonia opened in the Ulemiste Keskus shopping mall on Oct. 24 last year and the second one in Kristiine Keskus on Dec. 2.
