On October 27-29, Aseradens during his working visit to the US visited also the Silicon Valley. The goal of the visit was to promote cooperation of Latvian start-ups with partners in the US.

The minister was accompanied by the agency’s representatives and a delegation of Latvian start-ups from such companies as Anatomy Next, Apply, CatchSmart, Finerium, Furnny, Mass Portal, representatives from start-up environment providers Digital Freedom Festival and TechChill, investor representatives from NCH Advisors Inc. And Roug, and lawyers from Spridzans Law Office and Ellex Klavins.

During the visit to Palo Alto, the minister, Latvian Ambassador to the US Andris Teikmanis, Latvian Honorary Consul in the US Liga Hoja, LIAA director Andris Ozols, other officials and representatives of start-ups visited the Nordic Innovation House which is a co-working and business networking space for more than 180 Nordic technology start-ups.

During the visit to San Francisco, the Latvian delegation visited Galvanize City and WeWork co-working environments to discuss potential cooperation with Latvian companies.

"We wish to ensure Latvian start-ups with strategic and professional representation in global start-up networking plane and the hottest global point for attracting investors – the Silicon Valley. We have agreed on potential cooperation with WeWork collaboration space that is a global co-working platform for innovative and fast-growing technology start-ups. The broad international representation – with 150 locations in more than 50 cities of the world – will be the most important benefit, which means that Latvian start-ups will be able to use offices, business networking and cooperation opportunities in any of these spaces," said Aseradens.
