Bite Lithuania to invest EUR 10-15 mln in 2018

BC, Vilnius, 23.10.2017.Print version
Bite Lietuva, a Lithuanian telecoms company controlled by the global private equity firm Providence Equity Partners, will keep the current level of investments in 2018, planning to invest around 10-15 million euros in the network and new services in 2018, reports LETA/BNS.

Pranas Kuisys, the company's CEO, says that this year's investments were split equally between network development and increase of staff numbers. Bite Lietuva, which has over 800 employees, intends to hire another 100 by the end of this year. In Kuisys' words, salaries grew by an average of 7% this year.

He said the company last year invested 11.5 million euros in network development and would invest 15 million euros by the end of 2017.

Kuisys said he expected a two-digit growth of the market, dropping prices, development of smartphones and growing investments in development of new services next year.

According to data provided by the Communications Regulatory Authority (RRT), Bite Lietuva accounted for 28.74% of the market in terms of revenue in the second quarter of this year, ranking 2nd among the three biggest operators.

Bite Lietuva is 100-% owned by Providence Equity Partners, which finalized the acquisition of the TV3 media group earlier last week.
