Amber Beverage Group, producer and distributor of alcoholic beverages in the Baltic states, has invested more than EUR 200,000 in development of premium tequila brand Rooster Rojo in Mexico, the company’s representative Dana Hasana reported LETA.

The beverage will be produced in Fabrica De Tequilas Finos plant in Mexico that was acquired by Amber Beverage Group last year. The new tequila will arrive in Latvian stores in November. The beverage will be distributed in the leading tequila markets, including the US, Mexico, Canada and the Baltics.

The first shipment of 40,000 liters has already been shipped to the markets.

Hasana underscored that the new tequila brand will strengthen Amber Beverage Group’s position in the international tequila market and expand the company’s product portfolio. Produced and distilled in the heart of Tequila, each bottle of Rooster Rojo is created using 100 percent pure agave and filtered through Mexican silver, the company reported.

Amber Beverage Group was established in October 2014 as the international beverage company SPI Group consolidated its companies in the Baltic countries. Amber Beverage Group is a majority shareholder in three Latvia-registered companies: Latvijas Balzams, Amber Distribution Latvia, and Bravo.

Amber Beverage Group's turnover in the first financial year from October 24, 2014 to December 31, 2015 amounted to EUR 2.438 million and profit to EUR 4.126 million, according to Firmas.lv data.
