Estonia's Stigo starts serial production of electric scooters
"Stigo electric scooters are meant mainly for urban residents for whom the scooter's small weight, 13.9 kilograms, as well as the possibility to quickly fold up the scooter and roll it like a suitcase or take it inside with them are important," Stigo OU manager Ardo Reinsalu said in a press release.
The scooter is 100 percent electrically driven and its operating cost is a few eurocents per kilometer. It comes with either a 200 watt or 250 watt engine, has a top speed of 25 kilometers per hour and a range of up to 30 kilometers depending on model.
The parent company of Stigo, based in Estonia, is responsible for design, developing and marketing. The team at a joint venture in China is responsible for manufacture, quality and materials.
The presentation of the Stigo scooter to the international audience was scheduled to take place in Beijing.
