Lithuania's MRO provider FL Technics sets up office in Florida

FL Technics, an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services company that is part of the Lithuanian-owned, Warsaw-listed aviation group Avia Solutions Group (ASG), has set up a representative office in Miami amid plans to expand operations in North America, reports LETA/BNS.

FL Technics said in a press release on Wednesday that this would allow it to cooperate with the largest US aviation component suppliers without intermediaries.

"Given that the US is the country where perhaps the largest number of aircraft and aircraft units is manufactured and dismantled, it is from across the Atlantic that a half of the components we order come today," FL Technics CEO Zilvinas Lapinskas said.

"With the establishment of our representative office in Florida, we will be able to directly work with local suppliers and will become part of what is one of the world's largest aviation and business clusters," he said.

Florida's aviation industry cluster brings together more than 2,000 companies employing over 80,000 professionals.

FL Technics in the US will focus on cooperation with aircraft engine, power unit and chassis suppliers.

ASG owns 100% of shares in the MRO services company.
