Spilva’s investments reach EUR 1.15 mln in 2014

The fruit and vegetable processing company Spilva earned EUR 1.39 million in 2014, a 21% increase on EUR 1.15 million the company earned in 2013, the company's director Lolita Bemhena informed LETA.

Meanwhile, Spilva turnover in 2014 reached EUR 21.584 million, which is 18% more than in the preceding year – EUR 18.235 million.

 

Canned vegetables and ketchup registered the largest increase in terms of demand and sales volume – 29 and 17.4% respectively.

 

In 2014, Spilva invested EUR 829,000 into the company's development. The main objective was the development of production of preservative-free foods.

 

This year's investment budget is EUR 1.15 million.

 

The company's director indicated that the most important projects are implemented with co-funding from the Structural Funds of the European Union, and in collaboration with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia.

 

Spilva launched its operations in 1992. The company produces tomato sauces, ketchup, mayonnaise, dressings, canned vegetables, jams, desserts, mustard, natural juices, soups, juices, teas, spices, and various other products.

 

According to "Firmas.lv" information, Spilva’s shares belong to the Swedish company Procordia Food AB, which in turn is part of the Norwegian Orkla Group.
